The JoyGivers is a Gozitan five piece band founded in 2020. Since its inception, the band has maintained a steadfast commitment in building repertoire of music whilst pushing further in order to produce good music through different projects.

One of the band’s recent works is the production of the song ‘Il-Port tal-Imġarr’ which depicts the Mgarr Harbour together with all its characteristics, natural landscapes and surroundings as one of the most beautiful and prominent spots in Gozo.

 

The band’s aim on stage is to give joy and happiness to its audience while performing. The JoyGivers aims to target new opportunities as a platform for its musicians and audiences thereby enhancing the love of music.

 

The band line up is composed of Loredana Agius (vocalist and piano),  Albert-Lauren Agius (vocalist and bass guitar), Gordon Mifsud (electric and acoustic guitar), Jessica Bugeja (piano) and Albert Agius (drums).

Loredana Agius, a Pharmacy student at the University Of Malta, is one of the main singers and musicians of The JoyGivers band. From a tender age she was inclined towards singing. She started her vocal coaching at the age of four. During all these years, Loredana took part and won various prestigious singing festivals both locally and internationally such as the Trixie International Arts Festival in Bulgaria and Tra La La Festival in Macedonia amongst others. She was a finalist in local televised singing programmes such as The Entertainers Singing Challenge and San Remo Junior Malta. Loredana took part in Musicals where she sang leading parts. Apart from singing, Loredana plays the piano where she is in the final stages of the completion of the Trinity Guildhall Piano Course. With The JoyGivers Band, apart from being a vocalist she plays also the piano.

Albert-Lauren Agius, a Sixth Form student, is one of the main singers and musicians of The JoyGivers band.  At the age of four he started his vocal coaching.  Albert-Lauren took part in various singing festivals both locally and abroad. Albert-Lauren is a familiar face on local T.V. since he participated in various T.V. shows with singing challenges.  He won Sanremo Junior Malta and thus represented Malta in Sanremo Junior in Italy where he eventually succeeded in winning a prestigious prize.  Albert-Lauren took part in various Musicals, being one of the main actors and singers.  Apart from this, Albert-Lauren was also one of the finalists of the Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest.  Albert-Lauren plays the base guitar and is in the final stages of the completion of the Trinity Guildhall Piano Course. 

Albert Agius, a Radiographer by profession is one of the musicists.  From a young age, Albert has learned the theory of Music and plays the piano.   He is also a composer and has written various musical compositions.  With The JoyGivers he plays the drums.    

Gordon Mifsud, a sales representative by profession is the guitarist of The JoyGivers.  He has joined the band in November 2020.  Gordon plays both the acoustic and the electric guitar.  

Jessica Bugeja, a pianist and lawyer by profession, showed an interest in music at an early age. Studying music and harmony thoroughly with well respected Maltese mentors Denise Ellul Sullivan and Stephanie Quintano, she broadened her musical studies by obtaining both music and harmony diplomas. Jessica has also been involved musically in several concerts and as a guest pianist in the Annual Spring Music Festival and as a guest pianist at San Anton Gardens amongst others.
